VIDEOMOB

Bear Release, CSE 3rd Floor Lobby

Hold your hand here to join the crowd!

Located on the 3rd Floor of UCSD's Computer Science building, this is our most recent test of VideoMob. Users are invited through a four-screen dynamic display to "join the crowd." Using a Microsoft Kinect, the system detects the user and keys him or her out of the background using the depth camera. The collected ten second video self portrait is saved and added instantly to the constantly looping videos recorded by earlier users.

Houston Release

This test of the VideoMob was displayed at a party in Houston, TX. The Houston Release uses a computer monitor and Kinect to interact with participants and a large display screen to show the generated crowd.

This video booth was set up at Liberty Station during a performing and visual arts exhibition. The crowd is created using a webcam and greenscreen. Users push a button to add their video self portrait to the crowd.
